Once inserted, turn the screw through 90 degrees until you can feel the hammer head click into the groove, and check that it is secure by giving it a gentle tug before tightening. A hammer head that has only been turned partway may look as if it is fitted, but it will not bear any load. Refer to the fitting instructions for the relevant K2 component for the tightening torques – these depend on the clamping or connecting part used, not on the screw alone.

The K2 Systems 28/15 M8x30 hammer-head screw is the fastener for the K2 SolidRail system. Simply insert the hammer head into the profile groove, turn it 90 degrees, and you have a form-fit, load-bearing connection – without having to insert the screw from the end of the rail. This makes your work on the roof considerably quicker, particularly when making subsequent adjustments. Made from A2 (1.4301) stainless steel and therefore permanently corrosion-resistant.
