Tech tip

Two things that often go wrong with the MultiRail. Firstly, the order: as well as the 4.20-metre full-length version, the range also includes short individual pieces (MultiRail 10, 15 and 25 measuring 100, 150 and 250 mm) and CSM variants for corrugated sheet metal. If you order ‘MultiRail’ without specifying the length, you’ll quickly end up with the wrong part – and the CSM version is designed for corrugated sheet metal, not trapezoidal sheet metal. Secondly, the warranty: the 12-year warranty applies as standard; you’ll only receive the extension to 20 years if the system has been designed in K2 Base and the installation has been documented via the K2 Docu app. Both of these must be completed before the scaffolding is dismantled; the documentation cannot be properly compiled retrospectively. The structural analysis itself is project-specific and generated by K2 Base, not based on empirical values – the span depends on the module format, wind and snow loads, and the rib geometry of the existing sheet metal.

K2 MultiRail 420

The MultiRail 420 combines roof mounting and module support rail in a single component: it is screwed directly onto the trapezoidal sheet metal and simultaneously accommodates the module clamps. This eliminates the need for the second level usually required, consisting of sheet metal fixings and a separate mounting rail – fewer parts, lower overall height and quicker installation. The rail is 4.20 m long and is made from EN AW-6063 T66 aluminium.
