reev Living is the all-in-one solution for charging infrastructure in multi-occupancy buildings. Owners’ associations, property management companies and housing associations enable their tenants and parking space owners to make a smooth transition to electric mobility – without having to deal with any administrative burden themselves. Behind the scenes, reev handles the supply of 100% certified Green electricity at attractive prices, automated direct billing with drivers, energy management with support under Section 14a of the German Energy Act, and comprehensive driver support.
This does not affect housing companies’ trade tax privileges. With a compatible, metrology-compliant Charging station, reev Living meets the requirements of the BMV Funding scheme ‘Charging in Multi-Occupancy Buildings’.

The reev Living sign is the mandatory on-site component: using its unique 6-digit ID, you link the building to the reev Energy Hub, whilst tenants register themselves via the QR code – charging and payment are handled entirely via the reev app. The reev software is included (reev Energy Hub with EMS, billing, driver app and reev Companion) – no additional licence purchase is required.

Here’s how the installation works – guided step by step via the reev Companion web portal: 

1. Install and wire the charging stations. For charging stations without reev ready, first complete the steps under ‘Without reev ready’.
2. Scan the QR code on the Wallbox and log in to reev Companion 
3. Enter location details and meter information 
4. Enter the sign ID (6 digits) – this links the building to the platform 
5. Scan the charging stations using the QR code – they will be automatically recognised and added 
6. Confirm the installation – reev handles the setup in the reev Energy Hub, driver communication and electricity supply; you retain remote access.

Not reev ready? Here’s how to connect other compatible charging stations:

1. Configure the basic settings in the manufacturer’s user interface.
2. Set up connectivity: insert a reev setup kit with a SIM card into each station (recommended; not required if an eSIM is integrated) or connect via (Wi-Fi) LAN.
3. Enter the OCPP URL for the reev backend: wss://ocpp.reev.com
4. Affix the EVSE ID sticker: one per charging point, in a clearly visible position.
5. In the reev Companion, when adding the station, leave the ‘reev ready’ switch off, enter the serial number and then scan the EVSE ID. Instructions for each manufacturer: support.reev.com

reev takes care of this – with no effort required from the owners’ association or property management: 

• Electricity supply with 100% certified Green electricity at attractive kWh rates for drivers 
• Automated billing directly with drivers: monthly basic fee + kWh consumption, automatically debited 
• Comprehensive driver support provided by reev – no need to call the property management company or an electrician 
• Driver self-service: registration via QR code on the reev sign, charging and payment management in the reev app 
• Integrated energy management: static or dynamic load management and controllability in accordance with Section 14a of the German Energy Act 
• reev is the drivers’ contractual partner – the owners’ association and property management are not involved; drivers can cancel their contract on a monthly basis 
• Housing companies’ trade tax exemption remains unaffected

Requirements:

• Suitable for multi-occupancy buildings only (not for detached houses or public locations) 
• Charging stations compliant with metrology regulations, with a minimum output of 11 kW, from the reev compatibility list; ‘reev ready’ recommended. To ensure the lowest driver price, the charging station must also be integrated into the reev EMS.
• For charging stations without ‘reev ready’ certification: one reev setup kit with a SIM card per station for mobile network connectivity (not required if an eSIM is integrated or the connection is via Wi-Fi).
• At least 2 charging points per location 
• A dedicated electricity meter exclusively for the charging infrastructure (RLM meters are not permitted) 
• At least 1 reev Living sign per building. For larger, multi-storey sites, we recommend several signs, e.g. one per underground car park level.
