Tech tip

The earthing pin is the reason why this terminal is supplied pre-assembled – and also the reason why it must be fitted with care. When tightened, the pin penetrates the anodised layer of the module frame and profile, thereby establishing equipotential bonding. This gives rise to two rules. Firstly: use a torque wrench, not just your judgement – the torque value is specified in the Alumero installation instructions. Too little torque and the pin will not penetrate the coating; too much, and you will deform the module frame. Secondly: when re-installing a terminal that has already been tightened, position it in a different place or use a new one – a pin that has already been pressed in will no longer make a fresh contact in the same notch. The equipotential bonding via the pins does not replace a lightning protection system, but connects the metal parts to one another.

Alumero easySPEED Centre Clamp 30-40

The 30-40 centre clamp secures two adjacent modules to the cross-member of the easySPEED-2 system. It is supplied pre-assembled and fitted with earthing pins for equipotential bonding – one fewer component in the process and one fewer step on the roof. Suitable for module frame heights of 30 to 40 mm. The material is aluminium EN AW-6063 T66 with A2-70 stainless steel, with a mill-finish surface.
