OBO Network Surge Protector, Net Defender 1GB

High-speed networks are now the lifeblood of virtually every business and electronic system. Surge voltages caused by galvanic, capacitive or inductive coupling in data lines can, in the worst case, destroy IT equipment within a network. These networks therefore require special protection.
With the Net Defender, OBO Bettermann offers a future-proof surge protection device optimised for high-speed networks: networks up to 1 Gbit/s are no problem for the Net Defender. It can protect both the entire network and specific individual end devices.
End devices can be powered directly within the network via "Power over Ethernet" (PoE) without the need for additional cables. The Net Defender enables the use of PoE with rated currents of up to 1 A. Furthermore, it offers optimised surge protection in the channel up to 1 Gbit/s. According to ISO/IEC 11801 Amendment 1, this corresponds to a channel performance of Class E-B (or CAT 6A according to TIA/ANSI). Downward compatibility is, of course, also guaranteed.
Another advantage of the Net Defender is its ease of installation: it can be snapped directly onto a top-hat rail, automatically establishing the necessary equipotential bonding. Alternatively, it can be connected directly to a terminal device using a separately pluggable earthing cable, thereby providing targeted protection for that device.
