Tech tip

The RSA40 is not the better hook, but a different one: it grips deeper beneath the tile and covers up to 115 mm, compared with 95 mm for the EF35. However, the height adjustment range is smaller – 39 to 51 mm in the roof batten area and only 18 mm in the rail area, compared to 30 mm for the EF35. You should therefore check both before ordering: the insertion length of the tile and the required height adjustment. If the adjustment on the hook is insufficient, add shims using the Uni shim plate (803606) in 2.5 mm increments. Tightening torque for the bracket fixing: 15 Nm. A note from the manufacturer’s drawing that is easy to overlook: the parts must be connected via at least three teeth.

Alumero easyPITCH RSA40 roof hook

The RSA40 is the alternative to the EF35 for roofs with a long tile overhang: it extends deeper beneath the tiles and covers up to 115 mm. It too is adjustable in three directions and accommodates mounting rail 37 to 45 via a quick-release mechanism. The bracket is 40 mm wide; the base plate measures 105 x 88 mm and is secured with screws through eight 9 mm diameter holes.
